This was our second stay at this campground and if anything it was better this year than last. The owners are continuously making improvements and the grounds are spotless. We stayed for a week and every day there were at least two men working on the grounds. The free band concert on Saturday nights is enjoyable, the scenery is beautiful and it is quiet at night. The campground is in an ideal location to tour the surrounding area and see the caverns and the Skyline drive.

This is a very good park. The sites are big enough for large RVs especially in the sun deck area which are full hook up and have a concrete patio at each site. Many sites are located in the woods, and from the looks, some might be a challenge for a larger RV but would definitely be shaded in the summertime. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Of course this and other area campgrounds are here for use during touring the battlefield, and it is in an ideal location; far enough away to avoid the crowds but still close enough to quickly get to the battlefield. Incidentally the newly opened visitors center is almost worth the trip by itself.

In 25 years of camping this is the best RV park I have ever stayed in. The grounds are spotless, and the mountain views magnificent. The sites are large and landscaped with bushes and flowers. The layout is unique in that the sites surround a common area that is at least 100 x 300 yards. All sites are graveled and mostly level. The electric, water and sewer connections, at least in my area, are all new . The staff is very friendly and take pride in their park. There is free live entertainment in the common area Saturday nights. The Wi-Fi is excellent in fact I am on it right now. Some might say that there is nothing for kids to do. I disagree; yesterday afternoon into the evening I sat and watched probably 15 to 20 kids of all ages running and "playing" in the common area. No video games, no ipods, no TV, just kids having fun. It was great to watch and reminded me of camping trips in my youth.

This is an excellent park. The sites are large and the views are nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The museum tour by the owner is fantastic and worth the trip alone. We enjoyed our stay.

One of the best Military affiliated campgrounds I have seen. The location on the Patuxent river is beautiful. GPS 38.344, -76.4675
